§ Mr. Leeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in view of the mortality rate in the North-West of England, as evidenced by the recently published statistics of the Office of Health Economics, if he is satisfied that the North-West is receiving its fair share of National Health Service resources.
§ Dr. VaughanMortality statistics are taken into account in the resource allocation process. It is recognised that revenue allocations to the North-West do not yet fully meet its assessed needs. It is my intention to continue the redistribution of resources in favour of the needier regions.
