HL Deb 05 December 1979 vol 403 cc857-8WA
The Earl of SELKIRK

asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (a) Which African countries are in receipt of food aid, whether from bilateral or multilateral sources; and
  2. (b) which African countries are known not to need food aid.

Lord CARRINGTON

The information available to us indicates that, of the African countries, only Kenya, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe-Rhodesia have not received either multilateral or bilateral food aid in the last two years. At present, we see no need for food aid in those countries nor in Algeria, Libya, Nigeria or Tunisia.

House adjourned at a quarter before eleven o'clock.
