HL Deb 04 December 1979 vol 403 c681WA
Lord BOYD-CARPENTER

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the cost to public funds in the current year of the Equal Opportunities Commission; and what reduction it is intended to make next year in this figure in accordance with the Government's plans for the reduction of public expenditure.

Lord BELSTEAD

The cost of the Equal Opportunities Commission to public funds in the present financial year at out-turn prices is expected to be a little less than £2.6 million. This takes into account reductions in expenditure which the Commission has been asked to make. Details of next year's expenditure are still under consideration.
