Mr. Allan Roberts

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if his Department is reviewing the administrative arrangements operated for collecting value added tax and making value added tax repayments by Her Majesty's Customs and Excise; and whether consideration is being given to the abolition of monthly repayments by customs.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if it is his intention to extend value added tax repayments from one monthly to three monthly intervals; and what effect he estimates this would have on cash flow problems of small firms, particularly in the construction industry.
