Mrs. RenéShortasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will now announce the revised budget for the Commission for Racial Equality for 1979–80; if he will state what change this is over 1978–79; and what effects he expects the revised budget to have on the work of the Commission for Racial Equality.
§ Mr. RaisonThe Commission's expenditure in the present financial year is expected to be £6.08 million. This represents an increase in real terms of some 5½ per cent. over the budget for 1978–79. The Commission's plans for expanding its activities will be restricted to a more modest level than originally projected.
