HC Deb 04 April 1979 vol 965 c811W
Mr. David Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what purpose was intended to be achieved by the advance of £3,275,000 to Triang Pedigree Ltd. by way of share capital, loan and grant; how many jobs were created or saved thereby in the Triang Pedigree Company; and what was the cost to public funds of each job created or saved.

Mr. John Morris

The purpose of this assistance was to protect a substantial number of jobs in an area of high unemployment. The number of jobs protected over the period May 1975 to December 1978 averaged about 470, and the average annual cost per job was therefore about £1,900.
