§ Mr. Youngerasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, pursuant to his 738W answer of 29 June 1977, Official Report, column 254, he will give updated figures for central Government support to sea and air services in (a) the West Coast and (b) Orkney and Shetland.
§ Mr. Gregor MacKenzieTotal central Government expenditure on revenues and capital account for sea and air services during 1977–78 was £4,930,000 for West Coast services and £1,308,000 for Orkney and Shetland. In addition, the Government are giving substantial assistance through rate support grant to expenditure by local authorties on local transport services.
