§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will estimate, in the case of each quasi-autonomous nongovernmental organisation for which he is responsible, the total expenditure for each year to 1977–78 since its establishment.
§ Mr. Clinton Davis, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 29 March 1979; Vol. 965, c. 297], gave the following answer:
There is no official definition of a quasi-autonomous non-governmental organisation. The following relevant public bodies—other than nationalised industries—to which I make appointments publish their expenditure:
- Advisory Committee for the National Film Development Fund.
- Air Travel Reserve Fund Agency.
- British Film Fund Agency.
- British Tourist Authority.
747 - English Tourist Board.
- National Film Finance Corporation.
The relevant figures in respect of simplification of international trade procedures board are as follows:
£ 1970–71 … … 36,000 1971–72 … … 68,000 1972–73 … … 74,000 1973–74 … … 88,000 1974–75 … … 119,400 1975–76 … … 154,000 1976–77 … … 207,600 1977–78 … … 271,000 As regards the other public bodies to which I make appointments, the expenditure is either trivial or could not be obtained without disproportionate cost.
