§ Mr. Wattasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, in view of the continuing difficulties over the siting of a petrochemical plant at Moss Morran in Fife, if he will hold discussions with the Shell/Esso consortium concerning a fresh examination of the East Banffshire coast with a view to siting the complex there.
§ Mr. MillanNo. Shell and Esso have withdrawn their application for petrochemical development in East Banffshire on grounds of cost of harbour works at Peterhead and I now have before me for decision their application for development at Moss Morran on which I am at present awaiting further representations from parties.
