§ Mr. Sproatasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the total cost to public funds in 1980 and for each year subsequently 917W for which he has already made estimates, respectively, of: (a) retirement pensions and (b) index-linked pensions in the public sector.
§ Mr. HealeyThe estimated total cost of the State retirement pension for the years up to 1982–83 is shown in table 2.12 of the public expenditure White Paper (Cmnd. 7439). Estimates of the total costs to public funds of index-linked pension schemes in the public sector could only be provided at disproportionate cost. If the hon. Member has a particular scheme in mind, he should write to the responsible Minister.
