§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Prime Minister (1) whether, before 3 May, he will initiate discussions with the leaders of the political parties now with representation in the House to obtain from them an assurance that the Boyle committee report on the salaries of hon. Members will be fully implemented when presented to and passed by Parliament irrespective of the date of such presentation and discussions of the report; and whether he will make a statement;
(2) in the changed circumstances since the official announcement of the date of the general election, what action the Government intend taking on the question of the Boyle committee's report relating to hon. Members' salaries.
