asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many jobs are being preserved by the measures introduced by his Department, and at what cost, in the Warrington travel-to-work area;

(2) how many jobs are being preserved by the measures introduced by his Department, and at what cost, in the Wigan travel-to-work area;

(3) how many jobs are being preserved by the measures introduced by his Department, and at what cost, in the Bolton travel-to-work area.

I regret that information cannot be given in the precise form requested. As at 15 March, the numbers of jobs supported by TES since the inception of the scheme in August 1975, and the estimated costs are:
