§ Mr. Ian Lloydasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will publish a table showing, for each of the years 1964 to 1979, a breakdown of the costs of a private bed in a London teaching hospital, for which the current charge 909W is £583 per week, under the headings food and accommodation, medical/dental staff services, including consultants' services, nursery staff services, medical and surgical supplies and equipment, pharmacy services, mil. drugs, diagnostic services, paramedical services, administration and medical records, the contribution made towards capital expenditure and the supplement charge for a single room, showing under each heading the level of charge debited to the National Health Service for a patient in a public ward.
§ Mr. Raisonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will set out the changes in the current year in the computation of the capital contribution in charges for National Health Service pay beds.
§ Mr. MoyleFor pay bed charges in 1978–79, an addition in respect of capital was calculataed by reference to hospital in-patient capital expenditure over all pay bed classifications, the result being expressed as cost per occupied bed per week.
For pay bed charges in 1979–80 separate additions in respect of capital were calculated by reference to hospital in-patient capital expenditure for each of the pay bed classifications A, B and F and for classifications C, D and E together.
