HC Deb 04 April 1979 vol 965 cc868-9W
Mr. Penhaligon

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list in the Official Report the value to each region of Great Britain of money spent by the White Fish Authority on grants to repair, replace, renew and build fishing boats; and for each of these regions what is the percentage of the total United Kingdom catch by value taken in its waters.

Mr. Bishop

During the financial year ending 31 March 1979 the White Fish Authority provided the following grant aid for the construction, re-engining and improvement of fishing vessels registered in the regions indicated:

land South-East include Lowestoft. No grants are available for repairs.

It is not possible to attribute catches taken at sea to specific territorial regions of the United Kingdom.
