Mr. Lawson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will estimate, for that sector of the economy liable to corporation tax, the total amounts payable in 1978–79 in corporation tax, local authority rates, national insurance employers' contribution and national insurance surcharge.

pursuant to the reply [Official Report, 28 March 1979; Vol. 965, c. 233], gave the following answer:

Following are the estimates:

For national insurance contributions, no analysis between the public and private sectors is available. The estimates of total contributions are:

National insurance employers' contributions (including NHS, redundancy and maternity fund contributions 6,060
National insurance surcharge 1,940

Notes:

  1. (a) Provisional outturn;
  2. (b) Non-domestic dates in the private sector;
  3. (c) No estimate is available for the pro-portion paid by the sector liable to corporation tax.
