§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) whether the PAYE auditors have ever examined the records of a Fleet Street newspaper
(2) how many assessments have been made in each of the last five years by tax inspectors on businesses which have failed to keep either complete or accurate records of payments to casual employees in respect of the consequent tax lost;
(3) what is the normal procedure of the Inland Revenue when the PAYE auditors discover that the records kept by a business of payments to casual employees are either not accurate or not complete;
(4) how often each business operating PAYE is visited on average by the PAYE auditors.
