Area health authority hospital day places Bury 20 Rochdale 80 In Rochdale a number of mentally ill adults may attend multi-purpose day centres run by the local authority but it is not possible to identify the precise number. Neither local authority has any immediate plans to improve day centre provision. The level of hospital provision continues to improve. I have urged authorities to give priority to day care for the mentally ill.
