Further construction work will arise within the North-West in the partnership areas of Liverpool and Manchester/Salford as part of the inner cities programme. Under the programme, these partnership areas have together already been allocated £22 million from the inner cities construction fund in addition to partnership funds of £20 million for 1979–80 to be increased to £27.4 million for 1980–81. It is expected that a large proportion of this will go towards capital including, but not necessarily confined to, construction projects.
