Mr. Arnold

asked the Secretary of State for Transport, on what date he now expects work to commence on the A6 bypass—"blue route"—around Stockport.

Mr. Horam

Subject to the satisfactory completion of statutory procedures and the availability of funds at that time, we expect work to start in the period 1982–84.
