HC Deb 02 April 1979 vol 965 c512W
Mr. Kinnock

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he has for ensuring subject choices which are as broad and free as financial resources reasonably permit to children of fourth and fifth year standard in secondary schools in Wales.

Mr. Barry Jones

Responsibility for the curriculum rests with local education authorities and schools. On the basis of Welsh Office circular 185/77 a review is currently being undertaken of local authority arrangements for the curriculum including its balance and breadth.
