HC Deb 02 April 1979 vol 965 c538W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment why he has not visited areas of large immigrant populations to discuss housing and environment matters and those matters fully within his ministerial responsibilities; why he refuses to do so in the future and to visit the London borough of Newham; and whether he will reconsider this decision.

Mr. Shore

I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave on 27 March to a question from him on this subject.—[Vol. 965, c. 116.] I shall continue to discuss matters concerning ethnic minorities with local authorities and others as appropriate and within the context of my general policies.
