asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the latest available figure for people awaiting admission to National Health Service hospitals in Wales and in South Glamorgan, respectively.

34,357 people in Wales at 30 September 1978 and 5,420 in South Glamorgan at 31 December 1978.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) what is the average waiting time for patients waiting to enter hospitals in Wales for serious operations; and what was the average waiting time for such patients one year ago, and on the same date in 1973, respectively;

(2) what is the average waiting time for patients waiting to enter hospitals in South Glamorgan for serious operations; and what was the average waiting time one year ago, and on the same date in 1973, respectively.
