Mr. Alan WilliamsThe foundry industry is currently suffering from a prolonged recession in demand from user industries, which has reduced the profitability of the sector. The Department is providing substantial financial aid to encourage the modernisation of the industry so that it will be better placed to meet the hoped for recovery in demand.
