HL Deb 02 April 1979 vol 399 c1784WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many political advisers have resigned in preparation for the elections; how many plan to do so when the campaign begins; and how far political advisers can participate in the elections to the European Parliament.

Lord PEART

The Government do not hold information centrally on how many Special Advisers have resigned or plan to do so in order to take part in the election campaign. The same restrictions apply to Special Advisers' participation in the European Assembly elections as apply to their participation in parliamentary elections.

House adjourned at eighteen minutes before seven o'clock.
