HC Deb 02 April 1979 vol 965 cc500-1W
41. Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will take steps to inform persons injured by criminal acts of their right to attend the trial of a person accused of causing that injury.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

We have no plans to do so. It is well known that in this country criminal trials are normally open to the public. If a victim not called as a witness wishes to attend the trial of his assailant, he can inquire of the police or the court when the trial will take place.
