Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what action was taken by the departments of the Civil Service when staff employed at the Falls Road social security office walked out in protest at the detention of three members of staff by the police.

Mr. Carter

All staff who walked out of Falls Road social security office on the afternoon of 14 March 1979 will suffer loss of pay for the duration of the period of their absence from duty. Individual notices to this effect are being issued to each member of staff concerned.
