HC Deb 02 April 1979 vol 965 cc476-7W
Mr. Rifkind

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he intends to take to enable the operation of section 6 of the Administration of Justice (Emergency Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1979, having regard to section 6 of the Land Registers Act 1868.

Mr. Millan

As part of industrial action taken by certain civil service unions, staff of the Department of the Registers have refused to present writs in the General Register of Sasines, including those relieved of the requirement of prestamping by section 6 of the Administration of Justice (Emergency Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1979. The Government are using their best endeavours to bring about the ending of industrial action.
