asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take urgent action to prevent the closure of Learning-ton Park Hospital and the transfer of patients to Willesden General until he has given consideration to the representations made by the hon. Member for Brent, South and the right hon. Member for Brent, East (Mr. Freeson).

There are no firm plans to close this unit. Any proposal to do so would be subject to the full consultation procedure laid down.
