asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to prevent clinical trials of drugs by general practitioners sponsored by marketing divisions of pharmaceutical companies.

Mr. Moyle

As indicated in my reply to my hon. Friend on 22nd March I have no proposals for preventing clinical trials of drugs by general practitioners. I am, however, currently reviewing the general question of the conduct of this type of trial.—[Vol. 946, c.603–4.]
