HC Deb 27 November 1978 vol 959 cc42-3W
Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what is the total of British aid to Zambia in the current financial year, including the recently announced interest-free loan of £20 million in respect of copper purchases by British industry; and what future commitments have been entered into.

Mrs. Hart:

Aid expenditure in the current financial year, including technical cooperation, is expected to be some £22 million. New aid commitments are £29 million, and, in addition, the short-term interest-free loan for the purchase of copper. The latter is not defined as concessional assistance.
