§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Employment what is currently the basic wage in (a) the car industry generally, (b) the agriculture industry, and (c) the principal categories of the retail trade.
§ Mr. Golding:Basic wage rates in the car industry and some sections of the retail trades are determined by company and local negotiations. Minimum rates in agriculture and some sections of the retail trades are laid down in orders by the agricultural wages boards and the nine wages councils for retail trades.
