HC Deb 27 November 1978 vol 959 c77W
Mr. Tim Renton

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the purpose of the current visit of Mr. W. R. G. Bell, head of the vehicle division in his Department, to the headquarters of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, USA; and what is the length and estimated cost of the visit.

Mr. Les Huckfield:

Mr. Bell paid a courtesy call on the company in the course of a one week trip which was arranged some months ago during which he met senior management in seven companies in the USA and Canada with important United Kingdom subsidiaries and had discussions with representatives of British component makers. The cost of the visit has not yet been obtained.
