HC Deb 27 November 1978 vol 959 c87W
Mr. Bradford

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many people per annum used the ferry and bus route to travel from Belfast to London provided by Ulsterbus Ltd.; and if he intends to maintain the monopoly situation enjoyed by Ulsterbus on this route.

Mr. Carter:

Ulsterbus does not operate a through service between Belfast and London but does arrange through ticketing. It operates the service between Belfast and Larne, but does not enjoy a statutory monopoly on this route.

The traffic figures for any route on which there is or may be competition are regarded as confidential to the parties concerned.
