§ Mr. JohnThe defendant in this case was charged with and subsequently acquitted of a number of offences of indecent assault. As this is not a rape offence, as defined in the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1976, the relevant provisions regarding anonymity of defendants in rape offence cases did not apply.
