§ Mr. BishopI am satisfied that our fisheries protection measures continue to be effective. So far this year our fishery protection vessels have carried out some 1,600 boardings of fishing vessels at sea, in addition to the checks made on fishing vessels in port. Thirty-one skippers of fishing vessels have been convicted this year of offences against United Kingdom fishery regulations.
