§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in view of the fact that thousands of tons of sugar beet already harvested and awaiting delivery to the British Sugar Corporation factory in Bury St. Edmunds are liable to rot because the factory is unable to receive them, and that hundreds of thousands of tons of sugar beet still in the ground are also at risk due to the dislocation of delivery arrangements, he will personally intervene to ensure a speedy end to the disputes and delays that have held up the British Sugar Corporation's completion of its latest works at this factory; and if he will make a statement on 452W at the possibility of meeting the special needs of farmers of marginal land.
§ Mr. StrangI refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Cardigan (Mr. Howells) on 16th November.—[Vol. 958 c.296–97]
