§ Sir Timothy Kitsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the total cost to Her Majesty's Commissioners of Custom and Excise of collecting and monitoring during the financial year 1977–78 the general betting duty 477W chargeable on bets made on horse-race—courses with bookmakers and the Horse-race Totalisator Board.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonI regret that it is not practicable to isolate the cost of administering the general betting duty chargeable on bets made on horse-race courses with bookmakers and the Horse-race Totalisator Board from the cost of administering the betting and gaming duties as a whole.
