§ Mr. BennThe official sales price of Saudi Arabian light "marker" crude oil is $12.70 per barrel. In November 1977 the trade weighted average exchange rate of the United States dollar against other currencies—the "effective rate "—was 13.2 per cent. higher than on 9th November 1978. The effect on the oil producers will depend on the origin and type of their imports which vary from country to country. In particular, the prices of their imports from the United States of America will not be directly increased by the fall in the dollar.
