When they intend to start to implement the requirement in the Transport Act 1978 which imposes upon them a statutory obligation to prepare a policy for inland waterways.
§ The PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE, DEPARTMENT of the ENVIRONMENT(Baroness Birk)Preparatory work has started in regard to the duty imposed by Section 13 of the Act. The Government will announce as soon as possible the steps they propose to take.
