HC Deb 15 November 1978 vol 958 c280W
Mrs. Bain

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has any plans to introduce legislation in Scotland whereby grandparents will be given right to appeal against refusal to grant access to grandchildren, as is currently the situation in England and Wales under the regulations of section 14 of the Domestic Proceedings and Magistrates' Courts Act 1978.

Mr. Harry Ewing

No. Scottish courts already have powers to award such access under existing law, and there is nothing which bars an appeal against refusal to grant access.
