§ Baroness STEDMANProposals for a motorway between Popham at the Western end of the M3, and Compton, South of Winchester, including an inter-change near the North end of the by-pass, were the subject of a public inquiry which lasted from June 1976 until June 1977. My right honourable friends the Secretary of State for Transport and the Secretary of State for the Environment are awaiting the Inspector's report, which they will consider carefully before taking any decisions.
