§ Mrs. Jegerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what arrangements he is making for the payment of child benefits to parents in the United Kingdom, at present in receipt of tax allowances, whose children are domiciled overseas.
§ Mr. OrmeNone. Broadly, child benefit, like family alowances, is paid for children resident in this country, including under EEC regulations children in the European Economic Community. It has been made clear, in response to representations earlier this year, that it is not regarded as a practical proposition that child benefit should generally be payable for children resident abroad.
