§ Mr. Powellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he proposes to issue guidance to presiding officers as to the manner in which the condition specified in the Representation of the People Act 1948, third schedule, part III, paragraph 5(1) and (3) is to be complied with in the case of persons ignorant of both English and Welsh.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI shall be considering the need for guidance to presiding officers about the statutory questions that may be put to a voter before he is provided with a ballot paper.
