§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisThe Civil Service employs over 13,500 registered disabled people. This is more than any other single employer, and the Civil Service specifically encourages applications for employment from registered disabled people. About 2,500 copies of the Code of Practice for Employment of Registered Disabled People have been circulated to government departments. Despite our endeavours in this direction, the latest available figures show that two major Departments and nine smaller Departments—that is, those with less than 1,000 staff—are employing 3 per cent. or more registered disabled people.
