§ Mr. Bodyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what progress has been made to conform to EEC Directive 890/76 relating to the suppression of radio interference from fluorescent lighting luminaires;
(2) what progress has been made to conform to EEC Directive 889/76 relating to radio interference caused by household appliances.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI am considering a report from the statutory advisory committee before making the necessary regulations under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949. The regulations will be issued shortly. Implementation of the EEC directive will be delayed because of problems in achieving conformity which are not confined to the United Kingdom.
