§ Mr. Molyneauxasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether, in view of the Government's decision not to proceed with compulsory metrication, he will now withdraw SRNI 1978/116 which would make metric measures compulsory for the sale of sugar after 31st July.
§ Mr. ConcannonI am satisfied, following consultation with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection, that the contents of the order which deals only with the sale of pre-packaged sugar, are fully in accordance with the practice in Great Britain and I have no intention of modifying or setting aside its provisions.
