§ 38. Sir Anthony Royleasked the Secretary of State for Trade what action he is taking to ensure that the European Trade Mark Office will be sited in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. George Gardinerasked the Secretary of State for Trade what steps he is taking to persuade other members of he European Community of the advantages to be gained from establishing the future European Registry of Trade Marks in London.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisAlthough there will be no early decision by the Council of Ministers, the Government have already made clear to their Community partners their wish that the Trade Mark Office should be located in London. I will inform the House shortly of more specific proposals which I will be making to emphasise the advantages of a London site.
