§ Miss Margaret JacksonUnder the Direct Grant Grammar Schools (Cessation of Grant) Regulations 1975, the Government are prepared to meet certain of the debts of direct grant grammar schools entering the maintained system. So far, claims totalling some £390,000 have been settled. Other claims are being considered as the schools become maintained, and the total outlay is expected to be about £2 million.
