§ Mr. Leeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will consult the TUC and the CBI before any new salary scale for the remuneration of elected Members of the European Assembly is implemented.
§ Mr. JuddThe decisions on the emoluments of elected Members of the Assembly will be a matter for the Council of Ministers acting unanimously. I expect that there will be opportunity for debate in this House and the Government will also take fully into account any views received from the TUC and CBI.
