§ Miss Margaret JacksonThe 1976 Act empowers the Secretary of State to require proposals to be submitted and if, in her view, the proposals are unsatisfactory, to require further proposals. My right hon. Friend has told the Derbyshire Local Education Authority that its recent proposals for reorganisation of the Matlock area are unsatisfactory in certain respects. It is for the authority now to formulate alternative proposals, taking account of these views.
